At a brain Alchemy seminar in the USA, everyone was asked to briefly talk about their background and what made them choose the path they were taking and why, this big man stood up, now this guy is not a guy you would want to bump into on a dark night however…

When he told us what happened we listened, this guy was 10 years old at the time, his dad set about him with an aluminium baseball bat, then threw him out a window and left him for dead, this young boy crawled with his elbows to the first house he could get to where he banged the door.
The neighbours called the ambulance and the boys life was saved, while growing up, this lad was in and out of foster care and always in trouble.

Then one day he just thought I need to sort myself out, now this guy divots himself to helping kids to get a proper future.

The problem is, the boys dad is an idiot, and I’m being polite, but the fact remains, loads of these guys are out there and the daftest thing can trigger them and all hell kicks off, could be in a night club, on the door, even a super market because you approached him as he is looking suspicious, and it’s not just guys.

This is why the Fence is such a powerful awareness technique, but also you need to be in the second stage of the Mindset and quickly jump to the third stage of the Mindset if the guy tries to kick things off, you are closing this guy down, wither it be joint manipulation like Commando Crav Maga or skills you have learned from your authorised club.

A top tip here is; it’s good to know many moves, but practise 3 or 4 moves so much that they become instinct and are your fastest response.
I met this guy Tim at a personal security convention and he was telling me when he got his first job after he passed his SIA course , he was very skilled, but his Mindset let him down when the village idiot tried to steal a bottle of whisky from the local supermarket, Tim jumped in the way thinking the idiot would panic and freeze, instead the idiot had a Stanley blade up his sleeve and slashed Tim across the gut, it was only small and superficial, but at the time there was allot of blood and Tim froze.
